DESCRIPTION

The design of the hotel is inspired by the typology of the traditional settlements of Lemnos Island. Conservation of this typology, unobstructed view from all spaces, privacy needs of vacationists and minimum interventions to the natural landscape, are some of our main design goals. These principles led to the design of a hotel that breaks into small units and scatters all over the plot following its natural slope, instead of forming a big central building. The position and orientation of the small units are carefully selected so they are fully protected from the northern wind. There are wide planted areas among them with wooden pergolas, patios and stairs, that recall the experience of living in a village. A well-designed path leads from the one hotel point to the other. Buildings alternate in one and two storey shapes. Each room has a private veranda with a great view to the sea. Public spaces such as reception area, and the bar-restaurant are directly connected to the swimming pool. They are completely autonomous spaces that enhance guests’ unique hotel experience.
